Andine Crossing. 05 Days/04 Nights.
Home to some of the country’s most spectacular scenery, the Lake District is one of Argentina´s prime tourist destinations. People come to ski, fish, climb, trek and generally bask in the cool, fresh landscapes created by the huge forests and glacier-fed lakes.
1º day: SAN CARLOS DE BARILOCHE.
Arrival, reception and transfer to selected hotel. Accommodation. Half day tour (Small Circuit Tour) to get a taste of Bariloche’s gorgeous natural attractions during this half-day excursion. In downtown Bariloche, see the houses of pioneers who settled the area, the Nautical Club and the Melipal neighborhood. Skirt Lake Nahuel Huapi on the journey to attractions like San Eduardo Chapel, Puerto Pañuelo and the Llao Llao Hotel. Stand in the shadow of the impressive Mt Campanario, looming 3,444 feet (1,050 meters) tall. In the short, 37-mile (60-km) journey, view the regions mountains, lakes and verdant forests. Round-trip transportation from Bariloche hotels is included.
2º day: SAN CARLOS DE BARILOCHE..
Full day tour visiting the seven lakes route: Relax aboard the comfortable coach, driving along the scenic southern shore of Nahuel Huapi Lake and crossing the Limay Bridge over the Limay River. En route, your guide will offer commentary on the natural and historical features of the region.
Following the picturesque Road of the Seven Lakes, take in the spectacular sights of lakes Espejo, Correntoso, Escondido, Villarino, Falkner and Machonico before arriving at the shores of Lácar Lake (Lago Lácar), where the charming town of San Martín de los Andes is nestled between high mountain peaks.
You’ll have about three hours to spend at your leisure in San Martín, including time to purchase lunch at one of the plentiful restaurants (own expense). Stroll through downtown streets teeming with arts and crafts shops and gear-rental stores that specialize in a range of outdoor activities – from hiking, biking, boating and skiing to hunting and fishing. As you walk around, admire the lovely character of San Martín and the Swiss Alpine architectural style of its wood cabins and quaint shops.
On your return trip, the road goes through Cordoba Pass (Paso Cordoba) at an elevation of 3,940 feet (1,200 meters) and features a typical Patagonian landscape. See the confluence of the Traful and Limay rivers, the Valle Encantado (Enchanted Valley) and the Anfiteatro (a natural amphitheater) before arrival back in Bariloche around 5pm.
3º day: SAN CARLOS DE BARILOCHE-CRUCE DE LAGOS-PEULLA. Pick up at Hotel Lobby to continue by bus towards Puerto Pañuelo, bordering the Nahuel Huapi Lake.
On the way, you can marvel of the beautiful swiss style architecture that characterizes the constructions of the area, with beautiful gardens and flowers that dresses the place up to Puerto Pañuelo where we embark on the catamaran “Victoria Andina” or “Victoria Del Lago” to navigate the Nahuel Huapi Lake for an hour to Puerto Blest.
10.00 hrs. We set sail from Puerto Pañuelo to Puerto Blest where, during a journey of 15 miles, you will be able to observe the magnificence of the Andean landscape, the green of the rainforests that surround us, birds that become one of us and learn more about the fascinating history of this place.
11.10 hrs. Arrival to Puerto Blest. Here modern busses will be waiting for us to travel for 1.8 miles along the Frías River up to Puerto Alegre. Then we will continue on the “Ciudad de la Fé” ship, to navigate de Felix Frías Lake with its quiet and unspoilt waters of deep turquoise color heading to Puerto Frías. On this tour, we will have beautiful views of the Tronador Mountain 11.453 ft of height. After a short navigation of 20 minutes approximately, you will arrive to Puerto Frías, a small location inserted in the middle of an exuberant vegetation. After performing the departure formalities at the Argentinian Customs Office located in Puerto Frias, we continue by bus to Peulla. We will appreciate the lush vegetation of the Cordillera de Los Andes, as we watched the Cerro Tronador with its nine glaciers on its peak.
14.00 hrs. We will enter the Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park where Peulla is located. After performing the entry formalities for Chile in Peulla, transfer to Hotel Peulla and Hotel Natura Patagonia. Time for lunch and excursions. Accommodation for one night.
4º day: PEULLA-PUERTO VARAS – PUERTO MONTT. 16.00 hrs. We will set sail for Petrohué, navigating the Todos los Santos Lake. If the weather permits new views of Osorno and Puntiagudo Volcano and Tronador mount will surprise you.
17.30 hrs. Continuation toward Puerto Varas. On route we will visit the Petrohué waterfalls (Does not include entry), whimsical shapes of volcanic rock, bathed by green waterfalls make the perfect picture. Next, bordering the Llanquihue Lake, breathtaking views of the Osorno and Calbuco volcanoes dominate the landscape.
19.00 hrs. Arrival to Puerto Varas and transfer to the hotels. End of services.
5º day: PUERTO MONTT. Transfer to local airport (option flight to Santiago de Chile, Punta Arenas. Or transfer to Bus Terminal (If you wish to come back to Bariloche is able to take a regular bus ($20) to Osorno. Going across Antonio Samoré (ex Puyehue), to enter Argentina by Neuquén. This trip takes around 8 hours. In the middle of the Andes will admire de Osono volcano, unforgettable landscape such us this trip: unforgettable too.
